Job  Description

DanTech Services, an IT managed services provider (MSP), seeks a Tech Support Specialist.

Your goals place customer service and concern as paramount. Expect occasional travel and on-site visits and presentations, with all safety precautions acknowledged. You bring solid understanding of computer technology, especially network systems and security, commitment to learn about the fit between customers’ needs and features of various DTS services, and ability to determine potential customers needs and wants. Windows operating systems (with strength in servers), network troubleshooting, Mac OS X, and a base understanding of Linux operating systems. Your goals place customer care and concern as paramount, with an emphasis on protecting networks, data, and users. An ability to deliver services via remote connections provides an accelerated path to advancement. Expect occasional travel and on-site support visits. We support small/medium size businesses.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Ability to think through problems to find solutions in a reasoned, directed set of methods
  • Maintain LANs, VLANs, VPNs, switches, firewalls, and routers
  • Demonstrate knowledge of remote management systems
  • Maintain & monitor network, desktop, servers, & mobile devices
  • Maintain & monitor patch management
  • Manage data backups & disaster recovery services & reporting
  • Maintain email applications, which includes filtering services
  • Offer expertise with Windows Server and Desktop Operating Systems (Server 2012, Server 2012 R2, Server 2016, Server 2019, Windows 10)
  • Offer expertise Mac OS X, & Linux
  • Solid understanding of Active Directory, DNS
  • Understand operating systems (broad range experience)
  • Maintain & administer computer systems
  • Maintain security systems
  • Confer with network users about how to solve existing system problems
  • Install & perform minor repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment, & follow design
  • Coordinate & link computer systems
  • Set-up equipment for use
  • Read & understand manuals/technical documentation
  • Consult with staff & be a team player when serving clients
  • Knowledge & ability to maintain customer relations
  • Experience with Dell, HP, Lenovo servers, appliances & support
  • Work willingly with variable schedules
  • Travel, track expenses, deliver accurate reports
  • Dependable insured vehicle for transportation
